"Mix up of appointments"

About: St James's University Hospital

(as a carer),

Two weeks before I made an appointment with the audio department at St James for my brother, a letter arrived saying he had an appointment with firstly Mr Gough at 9.15am on the 06/05/08 in the Vascular department, and then secondly with Mr Selehfield also at the same time and day. He also had an appointment at the Leefield Clinic which I changed to 8.50am also on the 06/05/08. I phoned the appointments centre and I explained the audio appointment clashed. I was told that I was wrong and that it was only with Mr Gough at 9.15am. I said with the best will that no way could I be in four places at the same time. The person at the appointment office would not have it. It also turned out that Mr Selehfield is nothing to do with vascular problems.

Thank you for taking the time to share your recent experience. I am sorry to hear that there was a mix up with your appointments at St James's Hospital. I hope you have managed to get the appointments at a time to suit you and your brother.

I shall pass your comments onto the Patient Relations Manager at the hospital.
