"My wife and I are very grateful for all their help"

About: Royal Bournemouth General Hospital / Accident and emergency South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust / Emergency ambulance

(as a relative),

My wife suffers from chronic acid reflux, which, if left untreated, can drive her blood pressure up to levels which could trigger a stroke.

Recently, the acid reflux and alarmingly high blood pressure failed to respond to our available remedies and we resorted to 999. The first response professional arrived within a few minutes, examined my wife calmly and efficiently, before declaring she should be admitted to hospital.

The ambulance crew arrived after a very short interval. The care demonstrated by this crew during both the journey to hospital and admittance to the Acute Medical Unit was superb. They in turn were greatly assisted by the comprehensive assessment carried out by the initial response professional. My wife and I are very grateful for all their help.

Dear anon1867

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I hope your wife is feeling much better now.

It is always rewarding to hear that our staff are continuing to provide excellent care to our patients when they need us most.

I would like to pass your kind comments onto the first responder and ambulance crew who came to your wife's aid. Would you be able to contact me, laura.martin@swast.nhs.uk or call 01392 453831, at your convenience, with the date and address that the ambulance attended? This would allow me to identify the staff involved and ensure they are recognised for the care they gave.

Thank you again for providing feedback on our service.

Kind regards

Laura
