"Bad Experience"

About: Pilgrim Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as the patient),

We were driving back home to York from a holiday in Norfolk when my husband and I and one of our children became ill. This happened half way between King's Lynn and Boston. The ambulance staff were fantastic, although it took them over an hour to get to us as they said they were very overstretched with not enough staff covering the area. They took us to the A&E department of Pilgrim hospital in Boston. This was the worst hospital I have ever been in. The staff were rude, uncaring, showed total lack of compassion and humility. The only person who showed any compassion was a student nurse who unfortunately finished her shift shortly after we arrived. I was left lying on the floor soiled and covered in sick for far too long. Our blood was taken but we never found out the results. They were only interested in getting rid of us. I was kicked out in the middle of the night as soon as the drip was pulled out of my arm with no clothes and no money. They didn't even bother to check if I was able to walk, they told me to get out and left me. The next person I saw was a taxi driver.
