We have not heard any more about the young carers card. We have been talked to about it and never heard anything else.

Dear das

Thank you for taking the time and trouble to provide your feedback.

The young carers authorisation card does not exist in West Dunbartonshire although it has been piloted in other local authority areas across Scotland.

West Dunbartonshire Council and West Dunbartonshire CHCP work closely with a local organisation called 'Y Sort It' to engage directly with young people across the West Dunbartonshire area.

They recently carried out a local consultation exercise to find out from young carers what they would like from such an authorisation card and if they felt it would benefit them/help in their caring role.

The consultation exercise was carried out just prior to the summer holidays with members of our young carers service.

The results of the consultation are currently being considered and will be shared with our local carers groups over the next few weeks.

If anyone would like to discuss this further then please contact 'Y Sort It'using the contact information below.
