"Lack of support from mental health services"

Last year I was very depressed but due to the time-limited service run by Lincolnshire Partnership Foundation Trust - you are only allowed 6-8 sessions for treatment to keep waiting lists down and meet government targets - I was without support for a period of time. I was told to use a 24 hour phone line to the crisis team for support but they never answered the phone. I did report this several times but no-one seemed interested.
When eventually I did get an answer to the crisis line I was told I would get a visit from the team the next day, only to be phoned up and told that I was no longer being visited and there was nothing they could do.
To be feeling so depressed that all you want to do is kill yourself and then to be left with no support and to be told you cannot get a visit is one of the most devastating things that can happen to you - you feel completely on your own and that no-one cares, you are completely worthless and you have nowhere at all to turn to for help.
No-one phoned to check if I was alright - I felt completely isolated and unwanted.
I did have a diagnosis of severe depression and no, I am not one of those people who are continually crying wolf and making false suicide attempts. I had never attempted suicide and have never needed to use the crisis team before.
Even attempts by my family to get some support for me failed.
Something is badly wrong here.
