"Calling an ambulance while on holiday"

About: South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust / Emergency ambulance

(as the patient),

I woke up at 5. 00am vomiting blood. Luckily on holiday with family.

My daughter dialled 111 and the operator thought my symptoms warranted the Paramedics. They were here in approx 10 mins. They were wonderful Mike and Amy. They took me to Truro Hospital where treatment was carried out.

I cannot thank these great guys enough and will be forever grateful. Having worked in the NHS for 25 years, I think ex-employees are totally apprehensive. Once again thank you.

Dear Holidaymaker

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I hope you are feeling much better now.

It is always rewarding to hear that our staff are continuing to provide excellent care to our patients when they need us most.

I would like to pass your kind comments onto the 111 service and ambulance crew who came to your aid. Would you be able to contact me, laura.martin@swast.nhs.uk or call 01392 453831, at your convenience, with the date and address that the ambulance attended? This would allow me to identify the staff involved and ensure they are recognised for the care they gave you.

Thank you again for providing feedback on our service.

Kind regards

Laura
