"Quality of the healthcare"

About: Bradford Royal Infirmary

I was taken to the hospital via an ambulance as I had a popped cartilage and was not able to move. However the paramedic was extremely rude to me, by being very patronising and taking fun out of my name. In addition he did not assist me in standing up and walking to the ambulance which was excruciatingly painful due to my injury. On arrival at the A&E I had to disembark off the ambulance with no assistance despite not being able to move. Furthermore it is the job of a paramedic to assist a patient when the patient is in pain, in contrast this paramedic, who was striding ahead, just took me to the A&E and left me in pain which was unbearable. After waiting for 4 hours in the A&E in pain, I was finally seen by a doctor who was extremely unprofessional. The doctor listened to the symtoms of my pain and then checked on Google for the medicine she needed to prescribe. When asked for a physiotherapist she replied saying it is not needed despite being in excruciating pain. After waiting another 45 minutes for the medicine I was sent home unsatisfied with my treatment.

Thank you for leaving this comment; it is below the standard of care and experience we expect to provide. We are unable to comment about the Paramedic as this service is provided by Yorkshire Ambulance Service; however we will feed your comments back to them via our contacts. The experiences you have described whilst in the A&E department are of concern.
