About: Princess Royal Hospital (Haywards Heath)

The overall feeling was that it was tidy, clean, and comfortable. The nursing staff at all levels as were the doctors and surgeons appearing under pressure with too many things on the go. Does feel like there is not enough staff to cope with the demand, and during my observations things that were noted by upper levels were passed down to lower level staff and then at times missed off, not to say these were serious faults but it does worry you that this causes delays in getting things done. Very impressed with the outsourcing of the cleaning, portering and catering side of things and agree its that side that needs to be so called in private hands under winnable contracts not the actual medical care. It just too far too long to get the operation required. Most front-line staff encountered were polite and helpful even when under pressure.
