"The kindness and support of staff was of a very high standard"

About: Ashley House / Recovery service

(as a service user),

The kindness & support I have received was of a very high standard from the nurses to the key workers to the councillors. The staff are doing a demanding job but have shown incredible patience and understanding.

I have had support with an alcohol issue at Ashley house in Widnes and at the health centre in Castlefields in Runcorn which has helped me with my addiction and has got my life back on track. I could never have done this on my own. I've tried and it doesn't work. The staff have time for you and helped me on all levels from health advice to voluntary work to just having a chat and getting something off your chest.

Sometimes a cuppa and a chat and finding that you’re not alone is a big deal and sometimes the first step.

I found that the group work at Castlefields was of great help. I am on limited funds and couldn't always travel so anything covering Runcorn was of particular help.

If you have an alcohol or drug issue visiting the group may be the first step.
