About: Telford referral and quality service (TRAQS)

(as the patient),

I am disabled I don’t drive so they offer me appointment Wolverhampton Hospital which it too far for me to travel. I get sick travelling too far, it is not easy for me uncomfortable travelling too far because I am in a wheelchair every day.

Dear Melting930

Thank you for taking the time to share your comments with the TRAQS team. I am sorry that you feel unable to attend appointments which are not in your local area,

TRAQS always offers a Choice of hospitals where appropriate in line with the NHS Patients' Charter. We appreciate that not everyone is able to travel further to take advantage of an earlier appointment date for various reasons. However whilst local hospitals are experiencing challenges meeting demand and capacity which has led to longer that anticipated waiting lists for appointments TRAQS will offer patients/carers the soonest appointment within a 45 mile radius of a patient's home. If this is not practical then TRAQS will explain the local options to the patient/carer to ensure that the caller is fully aware of what happens next and ensure that the patient/carer can make an informed Choice of provider.

Thank you again for taking the time to let us know of your experience as all feedback helps us to develop the service further for the benefit of the patients registered with GP practices within the Telford and Wrekin area.
