I went into ward E14 of the QMC on a monday morning and everyone who dealt with me called me by my first name and smiled a lot, which was very comforting as I didn't need to know all the ins and outs. As I became more aware on the ward, I was constantly being checked and asked how I was, again with a smile and use of my first name.
I was lucky in that the other ladies on my bay made the stay 'enjoyable'!
The morning visit by doctors was positive and reassuring.
The following week, the nurses at Cotgrave Health Centre have been wonderfully reassuring.
