I was admitted to the Southport & Ormskirk hospital with a severe upper respiratory tract infection and pneumonia. After 9 days, I was informed that I had MRSA and that it was not contracted whilst in hospital. I disputed this vehemently.
The NHS is only as good as the staff who run it. Wholly, from the Senior Consultants to the student doctors, the treatment was always exemplary. As for the nursing staff, I found that the most caring, sincere and knowledgeable were the student nurses from Syhill University.
I found that my treatment from some nurses seemed based on reluctance at having to deal with me as if I was a highly contagious, lice infected leper.
