My sister was admitted 2 weeks ago after attempted suicide by hanging. No family were informed and she was discharged home to her 3 children! When she told me what she had done 10 days later I telephoned st Mary's trauma unit to at least get some details and understanding of why they would discharge her, to look after children, and why her next of kin ( myself ) was not contacted. I was told , ' I don't know, sorry, we just gave her a letter to give to her GP'.
