I badly banged by foot & had a broken toe which was displaced & needed to be realigned. The care I received was excellent, I found the nurses to be very professional, friendly & caring a real credit to the NHS. Despite the minor injuries unit being very busy the nurses were quick & proficient & I never felt like I was being rushed through. I was assessed by a nurse who sent me straight for an X-ray, I was assessed again by same nurse who injected local anaesthetic into my toe & realigned it, then she sent me for another X-ray to check it was in the correction position. I was seen again by the same nurse who strapped my toe up & made a follow up appointment at the fracture clinic, I thought this was great continuity of care & it was all done within 2 & 1/2 hours which I thought was excellent considering the unit was very busy. I found the nurses were especially fantastic & kind with my little 2yr old who became very upset when I had to leave to have my toe realigned. The nurses welcomed my little girl and partner to come in with me & even gave her a teddy. Thank you very much to all the nurses that were on duty at the minor injuries unit.
