"The last days of our mother"

Our mother spent the last few days of her life in the Purple Butterfly Room. We were able to stay with her night and day. She was treated with respect and cared for well, as were we, her family. Our grateful thanks to all concerned!

Our mother wrote many poems in her life, and we have put a selection of them together in a book, which we hope to sell to raise funds for the Purple Butterfly Appeal. One of the poems is going to be displayed in the room, and the book itself will be a lovely memorial to our mother.

#hellomynameis Kerry, thank you for your feedback and kind comments on Patient Opinion. We are very sorry to hear of your loss, but are pleased that you and your family were able to remain in the privacy and comfort of the Purple Butterfly Suite during this sad time.

It is also good to know that you feel that your Mother and family were treated with respect and were well cared for; your comments and thanks will be passed on to the staff concerned and have also been fed back to the Trust’s Charity Officer.

Thank you also for supporting the Purple Butterfly Appeal. The charity is always grateful for support and donations and is continuing to raise funds to open the next Purple Butterfly Suite. It is wonderful that you have put together a book of your mother’s poems and that you hope to sell these to raise funds for the appeal. It is our privilege to have one of these displayed in the suite.
