"New wards"

About: Musgrove Park Hospital (Taunton)

The new building I have been in twice now and both times I found them a very depressing experience, I was unable to get out of bed so could not go to day room. The first time I pressed buzzer as had been told could not get up without support and wanted the bathroom, it took 17 minutes for buzzer to be answered, I had to get my son to help me to bathroom in the end as could not wait, not pleasant for a 23 year old lad helping his mum. The 2nd time was the same, I was seen when came back from theatre and seen to have blood pressure checks but that was about all. I used to love the womens ward in the old building, as someone who has been in numerous times, there was a real sense of friendliness and a real sense of the nurses working as a team. You had people to talk too. Even the nurses are expressing their unhappiness with that ward especially where bones and womens health have been put on one floor.....I know I will have to go in again and am really not looking forward to it.
