"CQC should get there act together regarding..."

About: Littlebrook Hospital

My daughter has been a inpatient on many occasions, her latest was when it took us 18mths to get her out of a place recommended by the psychiatrist at Littlebrook. As soon as she was there they were doing there upmost to move her somewhere else. Having been placed on a PQ ward, which for most of the time was all male. She was heavily sedated most of the time, in our opinion it was the easiest way for them to deal with her ,that way she slept all day. My daughters wishes and that of our family were totally disregarded. They arranged a transfer to another private hospital against her wishes and that of her family. Managers meetings are a complete waist of time as her psychiatrist took no notice of what they advised, he didn't even bother to attend. Whilst in their care she alleged an assault by a senior member of staff, this is in the hands of the Police and the member of staff has been suspended.( Not the first time for this hospital). We are aware as parents that there is not much choice when it comes to mental health care in Kent and what is there comes far below what one should expect

As a trust we are very keen to hear from service users and carers about their experiences and see how we can improve our services. It would not be appropriate to comment on individual cases in a public forum but the ward manager would be pleased to discuss your concerns if you called Cheryl Lee, acting service manager them on 01322 622485.

Alternatively you could raise your concerns with our Patient experience team on 0800 587 6757 who will be able to discuss with you ways of addressing your concerns.
