"terrible experience in A&E"

About: Stafford Hospital

i attended A&E about 3 weeks ago with a flare up of my gallbladder and gallstones, i was in excruciating pain, put in a side room and was attended to by an agency nurse, who upon entering the room was eating minstral chocolates from her "dirty" uniform! she showed now compassion and could see what pain i was experiencing! she attempted to take some blood from me without success and in the process dropped a syringe on the floor, gave herself a needle stick injury, very incompetent for a so called qualified nurse. i then saw a medic who basically told me there was nothing he could do and offered me 2 paracetamol advised me to wait for my outpatient appt in august and sent me home still in excruciating pain. since this experience i have attended Walsall Manor Hospital where i received excellent care, within 10 minutes of walking into their A&E department i was on IV morphine, IV antibiotics and advised admission due to how inflamed my gallbladder was and spent 5 days in hospital! i am now on their emergency list for surgery. I must say though the Irish Triage Nurse at stafford A&E was fantastic!
