We (myself and girlfriend) attended maternity triage on the 15/5/14, after being given instructions over the phone regarding labour and contractions having being previously induced that morning. I was making most of the phone calls as my partner was in labour. I found the service fantastic; they gave clear, direct information, in a professional personal manner ( which to a scared unsure boyfriend, was invaluable). Arriving in Triage we were seen to quickly, in what seemed to be a very busy night. The triage nurse was with us throughout the night and was our named nurse, and someone all 3 of us will be eternally grateful too. The nurse recognised there were problems, we were quickly transferred to the maternity ward, from there we went to the birthing suit ( all in the space of around an hour with exceptional care through out). The doctors, midwifes, anaesthetists reviewed my partner quickly and performed an emergency C section, and delivered a beautiful boy. Following the birth, the baby was cared for on SCBU and my girlfriend on the ward, again we cannot sing the praises highly enough of all the staff involved. 3 days later we were all at home, healthy, happy and very tired. Are thanks and gratitude can’t really be described in words and especially not in a quick review. In an age where people seem so quick to slate the NHS and pick faults so quickly seems bizarre. The staff that were there that night / morning didn’t have a break, never once stopped acting in a professional, caring, considerate and compassionate manner, went home late and they also saved are baby’s life. And today I’m sure they will get up and do it all again. We really wish we could remember everyone’s names to thank them personally. Thank you all so so much Jon, Nikki and Stanxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
