As a relative of a patient being in this hospital for a period over several weeks on more than one occasion across different wards and also attending as an out-patient, I would not recommend this hospital. There is no patient privacy on the wards, there is little very space between beds. Not enough chairs for visitors. The wards looked scruffy and need a good coat of paint. On many occasions the alcohol gel in the dispensers at the ward entrance had run out. My relative was also unlucky to get a hospital acquired infection from the Countess of Chester Hospital whilst an in-patient. On one occasion the hospital discharged my relative, only for them to be brought back in and present to Accident & Emergency within a couple of hours discharge - they had discharged my relative inappropriately, only to be readmitted again onto the wards. Also the administration of this hospital leaves little to be desired. A simple enquiry (not a complaint, although perhaps one should be submitted - if it would make any difference) took almost 5 months to get a reply. Not to mention the expensive car parking charges, I am certainly glad this isn’t my local Trust! Most of all I know my relative was disheartened and unhappy with their overall care here. It was unpleasant to see them treated here.
"Awful"
