I took my little sister to skelmersdale walk in centre at around 6pm recently. My sister was very poorly with a temperature of 39. 5 and a heart rate of 120. her blood pressure was also low. When my sister saw a nurse she was advised to go home and take 2 paracetamol despite my sister telling the nurse that she had also fainted earlier in the day, was coughing up blood and had pains around her chest. My sister ended up in A&E on I. v antibiotics and a drip due to how unwell she felt and the only advise she received from the "nurse" was to go home and take two paracetamol can you please explain why this happened?
My sister has in fact got an upper tract infection and needs to now see a specialist can you please explain why the nurse didn't advise my sister to go to the hospital?
