What I liked
Since being taken to the Royal Free A&E by LAS with suspected meningitis I have recieved outstanding care. On the night of my arrival into A&E I was taken into a dark room to accomodate photophobia and given immediate pain relief and drips. Nurses where very considerate and monitered me constantly. I waited a very short time to see a doctor who spoke to me about my care and subsequently reffered me to MAAU on eridication of meningitis. Althought the ward was a little noisy it was expected considering the nature of MAAU. My family left around 3am where I was well monitered until the morning. Night staff were fantastic and made an extra effort to cause as little disturbance as possible when carrying out obs. The consultant in the morning was thorough and respectful. He made effort to converse and made me feel very at ease. In addition the health care asssitant on the ward that day was an absolute angel! Since leaving MAAU my follow up appointments with Neurology have been prompt and very well organised. The Neuro SpR was again, very thorough and has put me through all relevant examinations/tests nessecary for diagnosis. I recently had an MRI and EEG, where staff at both where efficient and considerate. I cannot give enough praise for members of staff and the efficiency throughout my entire care pathway. I hope this comments can be past on. What a credit to the NHS!!
