About: Medway Maritime Hospital

(as a carer),

Cleaners being antisocial and abusive, calling us nonces and perverts and I won't even say about the language they used, all because my husband told them to quieten down because they were shouting at each other across the road at gone half 11 at night.

Also bullying and ignorant security.

Totally appalled left after waiting 4 hours without being seen so was not treated.

I was sorry to read of the distress caused following the observation of the lack of manners shown by the security staff when trying to de-escalate a situation and also the abusive language of the cleaners. Please accept our apologies. This is not acceptable behaviour.

This has been escalated to the managers for their attention and action.

I complained but was never put in to pals or anything as with the best will in the world there is no way the staff would admit they were in the wrong, cleaners or security. However I did think that security was there to keep people safe not to act in this manner. All I have to say to the managers is watch the cctv from outside a&e by the drop off zone, then tell me how they can allow this to happen?

Just for everyone to know my wife (who has mental health issues) has refused to go to this hospital at any time. She has even said in an emergency please take her to another hospital. Even if its life or death she doesnt want to go to Medway. This is wrong but the staff are all going to back each other. However the cctv will show it all and when I told security this, I was told we will not look at this as we dont have time. This was after me seeing them only 10min before come out with cups of drink. So guess it was there break time. No wonder Medway has the name it does.
