"absolutely disgraceful"

About: Tameside General Hospital

Tameside hospital is a disgrace of a hospital. I was refered there by my dentist yesterday for a tooth extraction referal under general. After a 4 month wait I got an appointment at the oral surgery part of the hospital. The hospital forgot to send me a letter about my appointment and I only recieved a txt on saturday saying my appointment was on monday 21st so I had to let work know on the monday I wasn't going to be in. After a very stressful pre op and bloods (I have an extream phobia of needles and hospitals which causes panic attack it's that severe) I was told my operation would be on monday 28th. I then had a phone call today (Tue 22nd) saying that my appointment has been cancelled and I had to be transferred to another hospital where they would have to do all the pre op checks again. I was in a panic and had to leave work early as I was that upset at the though of going through all that again. I expressed my concerns with the hospital who did nothing and just told me that that had transferred my files and I would be sent another appointment by another hospital. I had been referred as tameside won't take over night patients after dental extraction. However when going through my pre op I was told on the day to bring an over night bag incase I wasn't well and had to stay over night. The staff obviously do not know their jobs or how to communicate with each other. I find it an absolute disgrace putting an extreamely phobic patient through all that when they know they don't take over night patients for dental surgery. I am appauled and angry and now have to face the choice of going through another pre op which is terrifying to me or live with the constant pain of extreme toothache and the chance of infection and worse.
