I was admitted to the Gynaecology ward at St Thomas' Hospital in November 2013 for cancer surgery and have subsequently had chemotherapy at Guy's Hospital. I cannot praise the staff highly enough in all of the Departments involved in my care - Oncology OPD, Gynaecology ward and the Oncology Day treatment Unit. My care was amazing on the ward with tremendous support throughout my stay. Any problem, however small, was dealt with in a way that never made you feel a nuisance. I am sure that my recovery at home was accelerated by the fact that I left hospital in very good shape. The staff in both of the Oncology units were also very supportive and quick to answer questions and deal with any problems I encountered during my treatment as well as making the course of treatment run as smoothly as possible. I was particularly pleased to be referred for an End of Treatment appointment with the Nurse Specialist who continues to offer support between follow up Clinic appointments. I cannot praise the Trust highly enough, and I would like to thank all the medical, nursing and support staff for their continuing care.
