My brother in law developed a condition called angio-oedema, most probably an adverse reaction related to treatment with a drug prescribed for high blood pressure. As a doctor I immediately recognised the problem and its potentially life threatening consequences. I drove him to Charing Cross' A&E at 2.30 am where he received immediate and effective treatment. All of the staff from receptionist to the SpR were exemplary in their professional approach and kindness, a testimony to the NHS and to the importance of this hospital to community of West London.
"The NHS at it's best"
