"driver was truly brilliant during my transfer"

About: South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust / Emergency ambulance

(as the patient),

I was taken by ambulance from Southmeads Minor Injuries to Frenchay hospital in an ambulance. The driver, a young lady called Sarah, was incredibly caring and sympathetic towards me. I think she was from the Avonmouth branch.

I was very distressed with abdominal pain; throughout the transfer from one hospital to the other she was brilliant. People do not easily get through difficult experiences without support from people like her, she was truly brilliant.

I do not give accolades lightly but this person reassured me and calmed me down, staying with me all the way when admitted to the Frenchay hospital.

Dear Argon716

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I hope you are feeling much better now.

It is always rewarding to hear that our staff are continuing to provide excellent care to our patients when they need us most.

I would like to pass your kind comments onto the ambulance crew who took you to Frenchay.

Would you be able to contact me, laura.martin@swast.nhs.uk or call 01392 453831, at your convenience, with the date of your transfer? This would allow me to identify the staff involved and ensure they are recognised for the care they gave you.

Thank you again for providing feedback on our service.

Kind regards

Laura
