I have a neurological condition following a stroke when I was in my 40s. In the week leading up to this occasion when I needed the 111 service I had terrible problems with pressure on the left side of my head, over the temple. I felt disorientated and wobbly, my gait was affected.
I was at my daughter’s house; she was becoming increasingly concerned and called 111 for advice. Because of my previous stroke history they sent an ambulance team to see me.
It was Sam and Hayley who came out to attend, I cannot praise or thank them enough. They were on the ball, totally professional humorous and reassuring. They did all the tests they could, Sam did not suspect another stroke but was puzzled by the symptoms and with further tests and observations thought it may be a form of arthritis. However, he could not take the risk and decided that I needed to be seen by a doctor for a confirmed diagnosis.
I was taken to Newquay hospital where the doctor came to the same conclusion as Sam.
I just wanted to thank Sam and Hayley for looking after me so well, in fact they reassured my daughter and my small grandson as well, both of them were worried.
"Reassuring ambulance team "
