"Admin"

Monday 14 July..Arrived at 10.00 waited 27 minutes to be booked in for a 10.15 appointment. At 11.00 I asked the nurse when I would be seen & was told I was the next one. Wrong 2 more patients went in front of me. I finally got to see the doctor 80 minutes after my appointment time when I was in with him for less than 10 minutes. I then had to make another appointment and go to Xray for a different appointment. When I got there I was told it would be sent to me in the post. I asked for a definite date and was told to go to MRI. I went only to be told by the receptionist that the form was wrong. Back I go to the clinic where the doctor told me it was right and she should have read the form properly. Another 20 minutes wasted and also another bout of orienteering. When I got back the receptionist she told me she would send the appointment in the post. I explained that I have a very full diary but no she still refused. Friday 18 July. I went back to MRI as the appointment had not arrived ( I was at the hospital for a different clinic ) The member of staff who was so helpful today told me I had appointment which on checking my diary was not suitable so she booked another one. The original letter had been posted so that was another £1.00 plus wasted. Now I am at Oncology just before 10.00 for my appointment at 10.05. At 11.00 am i asked where I am on the list and was told 3 patients were in front of me. I found out that the doctor had been in a meeting whilst we are all there waiting like idiots. By 11.30 still nothing had happened and I went to the make a complaint. Of course they were "not available". I was still chasing up my turn in the queue. I finally got to see the doctor at 12.05 and was with him for 11 minutes just for him to sign a piece of paper. Over the two days more than 5 hours of my life have been wasted that I cannot get back!!!!!!!!!! The fact that you are in ONCOLOGy is stressfull enough without without being treated so very badly. I have now come to realise that you are just a number and nobody really cares about you as a person. It is just a job to the admin staff who really don't care , however without sick people they would not have a job at all. We are all human so why do hospital staff think they have the right to treat us without respect!!!!!!!!! Oh by the way there is no drop down for ONCOLOGY so I have had to use the DONT KNOW department. I am not that stupid that I don't know where I have been!!!!
