I was referred to the Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital to have a CT Guided Lung biopsy this month. Was asked to contact the hospital in advance on the day of the procedure to check if a bed was available, if an overnight stay was required. I received a call from the ward sister, just before I was going to ring in to advise me that she will make sure a bed will be available for me. I was greeted on arrival and bed was found for me. (Coltishall Ward)
After routine obs' were made, I was taken down to the CT clinic by a Serco porter who was very helpful, in fact all the porters were very pleasant and polite.
The procedure went well, and was very well looked after by the team at the clinic.
After returning to the ward, the service I received was exceptional by all staff. The duty Doctor and Dr Phillips (Respiratory Medicine) checked that everything was ok. I then received a visit from the gentleman who carried out my CT Guided biopsy, who also enquiring about how I was feeling. I am sorry I cannot mention these people by name, but they all made my brief stay at the Hospital very enjoyable.
I would like to mention the Nurse who looked after me in the Coltishall ward, she was concerned that I had missed lunch due to the procedure, and found me a snack to eat and brought me a hot drink. I did'nt catch her name, but she deserves a special mention.
