I was diagnosed with bowel cancer for the second time and I was very apprehensive. The care offered by the medical and nursing staff was reassuring. The appointments came through at the times promised and everyone explained and discussed the treatments offered. I felt confident about the way forward and supported. After the operation the nurses on the ward were more like old friends not strangers and I can't praise the care enough. The stoma nurses were knowledgable and practical and have been instrumental in bolstering my confidence through the first weeks of coping with a stoma and I feel reassured that they will be there in the future if I need them. It seems that nothing phases them. I constantly hear on the news 'stories' about the shortcomings of the NHS and I feel I would like to shout from the rooftops that it wasn't like that for me in Yeovil. Thank you very much
