Recently I attended the ophthalmic department for an eye examination due to my being diabetic. The nursing staff (as always) are very efficient and helpful. My problem came when I went in to see the consultant. He spoke very broken English and didn't seem to understand the nurse when she commented the machine had been set at too high a position for me to rest my chin on. (I am only small!) This was eventually sorted out. He then told me I needed to have a photograph of my eyes taken which couldn't happen at the time (the nurse told him) as it was shut. He again seemed to have problems understanding this. He didn't really explain the results of my eye examination or how they had changed if indeed they had. Came away feeling very dissatisfied with my appointment and assume everything is ok with my eyes as I can still see!
