I broke my neck of femur in January 2014 and was assigned to a therapist in the physio department. She was personable, efficient and more than anything else prepared to allow me to be involved in my own rehab. Being a sportswoman , I wanted a quick fix return to all my activities , mostly distance running, she kept me grounded and realistic but encouraged me to push myself to limits we agreed on. I admit to being arrogant in thinking I knew exactly what was required for me but she politely yet authoritatively kept me engaged and impressed by her depth of knowledge. She gave me exercises I had never seen before! As a result I am back running 6 months ahead of schedule, pain free and more efficient than I was before. At 56 that is a bit of a miracle, thank you to the therapist and all the NHS who helped me , you are all amazing !
