"Excellent night care staff on robinson ward at Chesterfield Royal Hospital"

About: Chesterfield Royal Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as a carer),

My mum was in this ward after breaking her hip and was also terminally ill I therefore was allowed to be with her over the night. Today in the early morning, the lady in the next bed to my mum who had also broken her hip was constantly through the night insisting about getting out of bed and was obviously very confused by what she was saying. The way that all the staff nurses and healthcare assistants looked after her was definitely to be commended. They dealt with it with love, care and patience. It appeared that it was a very trying experience but they remained calm throughout. There is always people who write in about negative things that happen but I wanted everyone to know that there are some guardian angels on these wards. Please make sure that the relevant staff are made aware of the sterling job they did.

Thank you for taking the time to let us have your comments, especially when you are going through such difficult circumstances yourself. I will make sure the Robinson Ward team receive your note. This is a true reflection of our Proud to Care values and to be honest, as a non-clinical member of the Royal Hospital team, your post made me feel quite emotional when I read it - as this is exactly the sort of care I would want for a member of my own family. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and my best wishes Sarah Turner-Saint, Head of Communications
