"Treatment for broken bone in thumb"

About: New Cross Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as the patient),

Suffered hand injury.

Attended A+E. Fantastic experience. Booked in for the fracture clinic the next day.

Again, all fine apart from having to request the consultant look again at the second x-ray showing the break.

Treatment being discussed up to that point was for minor ligament damage only (I believe a support bandage).

After having observed the break treatment was revised to having a cast fitted.

A little disconcerting but thanks to having been talked through my x-ray at A+E I was aware of what my injury actually was and ensure I received the right treatment.

Perhaps adding notes to clarify if there is a break would be an improvement.
