"When i was taken down to theatre ..."

About: Chase Farm Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

When i was taken down to theatre foir my major operation, the dr's and nurses were brilliant, but when i was taken back to ward after my op, they were'nt so brilliant, they left you to your own devices to get on with it, and only came to your aid if you pressed the nurses buzzer, i was in hospital for a week and in a week my room was not cleaned the sinks was dirty and my floor was dirty with black hairs and fluff, by the end of my stay which was 5 days i noticed that it had not been cleaned, no wonder there is mrsa and cross contamination, i would not go back to this hospital if you paid me, on leaving they did not even tell me what i could do or not do, i had a major operation, and it wa a case of get you in get you out, this is appaulling, i'd rather travel to other hospitals in the future.

What could be improved

the food was awful not enough, undercooked, no toast surely they could get a toaster, and if you were ill and could not get out of bed the food should be brought to you, you had to get up and walk to the day room for food, this has to be sorted.everything was too much trouble for the nursing staff

Anything else?

if you asked for anything, it took 3/4 hours to get from the nursing staff, they were not a bit helpful, i had blood on my sheets, and it took a day to change, the care staff who brought the tea/cofee around were miserable on ward gynae, the nurses were abrupt day and night

i thought going into hospital for a major operation they would be kind, the only one that was kind was the sister. get more like her and the nhs would be good.this truley has to be sorted out on this ward, the showers and loo's were dirty, dont know when they were last cleaned. i was glad to get home.
