"Wrong diagnosis"

I brought my son to the children's A&E after he hurt his hand. It was very swollen and very bruised and he could not move 2 fingers. He was also in severe pain. We arrived shortly after 7am at the main A&E reception only to be told to go to the children's department. When we got there a lady who was drinking a cup of tea moaned about us being there and asked us to come with her. Thinking she was taking us to be seen we followed her back to the main reception where she the reprimanded the receptionist for sending patients to her whilst on her tea break. We then had to follow her back round to where we came from and waited for a further 25 mins (even though no one else was there?) we were seen and sent for x ray which all went fairly smoothly but when we returned to the lady who gave us the result of the x ray she told us there was no break and he must keep moving his fingers otherwise they will stiffen up. He pleaded with her to strap them as he was in so much pain but she very rudely said it's not that bad it's just bruised. My son was very upset. We were told if no better in two weeks go to our GP. We did two weeks later and he arranged another x ray at another hospital only to find he had a broken knuckle. To this day he cannot straighten his finger and I have been told it was because it was never immobilised properly in the first place. He has subsequently broken the other knuckle and was placed in a cast from his fingers to his elbow. Just as it should be.
