"My Father attended this hospital ..."

My Father attended this hospital having suffered a stroke, when they were in A&E the curtains of the bed my father was placed in was covered in blood from a prior occupier. My mum returned home to collect some things for my father to stay in hospital and in the hour she was gone no monitorring equipment was used on my father this meant he was in a far worse condition upon her return. Eventually after much complaining upon my mums part they eventually attached some monitors to ensure he didn't further detiorate. My father was then moved to the medical admissions ward where he was to stay. Upon visiting my father the following day my mum realised that his right leg was stone cold as if there was no blood flow, he had no movement in this leg. My mum immediatley told one of the nurses. they said they would keep an eye on it. My mum massaged his leg and still inspite of this the leg remained stone cold she then complained again to the nurses that there was something wrong. They said they would get the doctor to have a look at it when they did their rounds. Upon returning for a second visit in the afternoon still nothing had been done, no one had even looked at his leg. Again My mum complained. In all it took 4 complaints to the medical staff before someone finally fetched him some surgical stockings. Within 1hr of having the stockings on he regained some movement in his leg. This suggests to me that had they put the stockings on earlier his recovery may have been much quicker.
I understand how busy the staff are, but perhaps if someone expresses concern over an issue more could be done to ensure it's resolved. It should not take 4 complaints from the patients family for someone to take note.
I would like to add that my father is now much better and making an excellent recovery.
