"Unexpected complication following truss biopsy"

Left ward 12c yesterday after 5 days there. Wow what a dedicated, professional, caring team. From consultants,registrars,doctors, ward sisters, nurses,health care assistants,meal service and cleaning and everyone else. Treated at all times with respect and dignity The handovers at beds from shift to shift reassure you that everyone is fully up to speed all the time on your condition and treatment and this also gives the patient and carer a chance to be included. No consultants mumbling at the bottom of your bed and running off to next patient as quickly as possible treating you as though you are actually a nuisance as has been my experience in the past Consultants, registrars and doctors took time to introduce themselves, gave good clear information and took time to answer questions and give explanations. Handbook giving a daily timetable of what to expect, around what time, was very reassuring. Hospital can be a bewildering experience but the management of this ward was a credit to everyone and ensured our stay was as comfortable as possible. Time to talk and discuss exactly what was going to happen to you as a patient is so important. Brilliant. Thankyou to all. Only area that could improve to enhance this experience further and allow patients to leave hospital sooner is the ability of pharmacy management to deliver to wards,medications required to be able to leave hospital. We could have left hospital at midday but actually left at 4.05p.m due to delay in medications being provided to the ward. We observed this to be the issue for most patients on a daily basis. Having said that, we were looked after brilliantly whist waiting but once you are told you can leave, then to have to wait around for hours,can leave you feeling tired and frustrated, feelings not experienced during the stay. Thankyou to all on ward 12c!!
