I gave birth two months ago at the Lucina Birth centre in Coventry and could not be happier with how I was treated by the staff there. I arrived in an ambulance minutes from giving birth and was immediately taken to a room that I was then able to stay in overnight with my husband, unlike on the labour ward where he would have had to go home and leave us. The staff were friendly and brought us food in the middle of the night when we were exhausted and the midwife who delivered my baby in the evening came back in the morning to see how we were.
I wouldn't have had time for any kind of intervention before giving birth but didn't intend to have any, though I did hope to have a water birth which would have been available if I wasn't about to give birth when I got there! If you are looking for an epidural this is not the right place for you because it clearly says on the materials from the midwife they can't do them, but for me it was fantastic, and so much less stressful than my first birth two years previously on the labour ward.
I'm not someone who usually writes reviews, but I felt the need to write this review just because I felt the earlier ones on this site were so negative and unfair! Plus two of them were about the labour ward not the birth centre anyway!
