my sister stephaine osborne was a patient in the royalfree hospital,she died there 17th jan 2007, i live in dublin ireland my sister and myself went over as soon as the hospital rang to tell us she was dieing,from the moment we set foot in the hospital they were very helpfull to us,my sister stephaine hung on for 17 days we wanted to stay with her,we arrived in what we were wearing and had no accomidaion arranged so tey got us matresses to sleep on in her room and always made sure we got breakfast dinner and tea,we hadnt much money either so tings were diffacult enough for us to see our sister dieing and screaming in pain,they were so taughtfull towards her,beyond their dutys,they knew her from attending the hospital over the years as a in patient and an out patient,some staff even had nice storys they remember of talks or how they met her,all the doctors and nurses were so kind and helpfull and made her as comfortable as possible,and me and my sister,the doctors who wernt even treating her but who just knew would come in and check how she was when they,d be finishng a long shift they would take the time to jus pop in and say hi and ask how she was doing,that ment a lot to me and my family,even down to the cleaning staff were the same with her,she was like the pope,everyone knew her and had nice things to say about her,then she died they were so kind and helpfull,as we were in a different country and didnt know what to be doing next,the had their berivement counseller sit and talk to us and advise us,

What could be improved

the garath anderson ward on the 11th floor, i noticed were short on basic important things like pillows,blankets,updated beds,ect.. also maybe i noticed now and again in my 17 days staying in the hosp that drugs were been used in the toilets on the ground floor near the main entrance,and in the cafe on the ground floor i saw a man selling a girl drugs,she was a patient as she was wearing pajamas and slippers,also im a smoker nd made numerous of trips during the nite outside to smoke and noticed people walking in and out freely at 5+6+7 into the early hours,security could be thightend up a lot,

to all the doctors and nurses on the 11th floor the gareth anderson ward,myself and my family will be forever greatfull to u all for the good care u took of our sister stephaine,a prayer has been said in honour of all of you,and to sue u espically helped us along,you will always be rememberd thank you.
