"Amazing Care on Level 9"

About: Royal Alexandra Children's Hospital

We arrived at A&E with our 9 week old son Kyrani, he was sleepy and spiking a temperature of 38.1 which kept going high and low despite giving him a small dose of paracetamol as we were advised to do so by his dr following his immunisations the previous week. He was examined and had bloodtests and a lumbar puncture done to rule out meningitis which came back that he did indeed have meningitis. He was admitted to level 9 where we were introduced to a nurse for the night then in the day we had another and a student nurse who were there immediatly in one push of a button or if they heard him crying. They treated him with great caution and brilliant care, so did a senior nurse who looked after us at night. The night staff even looked after him for a while so i could rest for a little while. The student nurse was amazing, always followed correct hygiene measures and chatted with me when i felt upset and looked after my son if i needed to wash or make a drink. I will always recommend the services to anyone i know that are in need. Thank you staff at RACH.
