I received excellent care from the midwife-led maternity service at the hospital, from the midwives as well as the maternity care assistants. The patience and commitment shown enabled me to persevere with breast feeding and feel emotionally supported. The staff to patient ratio appeared to be just right and the unit did not feel crowded at all. I feel the most common reason for failings in care in NHS is poor staffing. For me, adequate staff availability made such a difference compared to my experience many years ago when I had my first child at RBH.
"Excellent maternity care"
