I’ve been going to get surgical appliances from Trafford General over the last few years. I’ve got cerebal palsey and have footwear developed for me there. Overall, I’ve had very good experiences at Trafford and Altrincham hospitals. But, after getting some new footwear fiited at Trafford General two years ago, my left foot became very painful and I realised something wasn’t right. The boot felt too tight. I went to see my GP who took an x ray and said I had a stress fracture in that foot. This was a result of the way the boot had been fitted at Trafford General and staff at the hospital admitted that it had not been built up properly on the left.
The ongoing effects of this mistake are that one of my legs has become weaker and the other stronger, causing mobility problems for me. As a result, I became depressed.
Everything else at Trafford General has been good, except for this. I’m under the knee clinic there and it’s very good, they’re keeping an eye on me and giving me injections.
I’ve also had physiotherapy at Trafford General, that’s group physiotherapy as well as individual physiotherapy and that’s been brilliant.
