I was brought in for a last minute induction after being diagnosed with obstetric cholestatis very late on in pregnancy. The midwives were caring and explained every step to me in detail so I knew what was happening/to expect as my world was suddenly turned upside down. I felt in control as they explained pain relief options as I had no preordained birth plan. After 3 days the induction was not progressing sufficiently and they advised me to opt for a c section. The decision was always mine to make after they explained the pros and cons. After the birth the care in post natal was equally attentive. We had not made any ante ante classes due to being caught out by an early induction but I need not have worried as they midwives taught me everything I needed to know about caring for my new baby. One midwife spend 50 minutes in the middle of the night helping me and my new (but lazy) baby master breast feeding! I was allowed home after 2 nights with all the skills needed to cope with a new born back home on my own. I cannot praise the care and professionalism of these midwives enough - I had a fantastic experience!
"The midwives were fantastic!"
