"Children's A&E department"

About: Good Hope Hospital

On advice, took my son to have his foot checked after a fall from a tree at school. Disappointed at A & E main reception staff- 3 of them behind the desk but no one acknowledged me, until I very nearly walked through the wrong door altogether, whilst trying to help my son walk! However, one of the receptionists then redeemed themselves with 'a lovely chat to my son' and subtle checks with me that information given, was correct! To then be directed to a 'Childrens A & E' department was great! Brilliant idea to keep it separate from adults, only got to really meet two nurses and a doctor but have to say my son received excellent treatment and I wouldn't hesitate in highly recommending Good Hope hospital in future.

Dear Anonymous

thanks for taking the time to post your feedback. I am very sorry you were not acknowledged when you first attended the reception area -the Matron has been made aware of this.

In response to your post we are planning some inspections to see if your experience is a common one and to inform any actions we need to put in place.

Kind regards

Ann Marie
