What I liked
All the Healthcare professionals who dealt with me were first class. Nursing staff were very helpful and caring. Specialist explained procedure, as did Anaesthetist. I was involved in the discussion about discharge from hospital after operation. Felt I was treated like an individual not just 'another patient' by all concerned.
What could be improved
Time delays from first referral by GP to actual operation being performed did not appear to take account of pain levels being suffered. That said four months is not too long to wait when compared with much longer waiting times some years ago.
Anything else?
Follow-up appointment took place six weeks after operation as promised. Registrar, who had performed the actual operation appeared skilful, knowledgeable and took the time to discuss issues and answer questions. Made a full recovery following this operation.
