"If I could recommend a surgeon, Dr Oates would be top of my list"

I was extremely worried before going for my consultation with Dr Oates but immediately she put me at ease with her manner and approach. She explained everything in detail at what was causing my heavy periods and advised me the best way forward was a hysterectomy. She arranged an appointment there and then in her diary when she would be able to perform the operation. I was so relieved that she was doing the operation as I had every confidence in her. She went on to explain how the operation would be performed using my previous caesarian scar and how the fibroids and cysts would be removed intact and then tested for any abnormalities.

I then saw Dr Oates when I arrived on the morning of the op and she explained everything about what would be happening that day, making me feel reassured as I was very nervous. Following the op which went very well, Dr Oates visited me and everyday until my discharge in late Feb 2014 which I thought was a very personal touch and very much appreciated. She then wrote to me following the test results, explaining them to me and discharging me from any further treatment necessary. I did send her a thank you card to express my thanks to her for making my time in hospital a less traumatic one and if I could recommend a surgeon for an operation, then Dr Oates would be top of my list.
