"Fantastic Care"

About: The Whittington Hospital

After I noticed a strange looking mole, my GP referrred me urgently to the Dermatology Clinic. I was seen within the two week urgent referrals window in mid May. The consultant dermatologist removed the mole the same day, and the results showed that it was a melanoma in situ. In other words - it was a melanoma that had not yet spread. I have just had a second op to remove further tissue to ensure that there are no melanoma cells left. It has been a massive shock and I cannot fault the way the Whittington Hospital has looked after and supported me. From the doctor who went out of her way to reassure me, the receptionists in Clinic 3B, the nurse who was so kind during the two procedures, my named nurse, to the way I have been cared for and kept informed throughout this worrying process. Thank you everyone. I am so proud to have the Whittington as my local hospital.
