"Excpetional Care of my mother on Mandarin Ward"

About: Queen's Hospital (Romford)

My mother "Connie" was being treated on Mandarin Ward for advanced cancer and sadley passed on 21st June 2014. Despite this sad loss to the family, we cannot praise all of the staff at Queens hospital enough. Especially the staff on Mandarin Ward (B) and regardless of their role every single person we met at the hospital were professional, caring and compassionate to both my mother and towards the family. At all times through our many visits, mum was very well looked after, was always clean and the staff seemed to genuinely care. It was a huge comfort to us all to know she was so well looked after and to see this 1st hand was so reassuring. As part of Mums' wishes and the family, we will be making a donation to the hospital so they can continue with the wonderful (yet difficult) work they do. It's sad there's so many negative stories on the health service and when we had such a positive experience even during very difficult circumstances. I'd full encourage anyone to support the hospital and the ward and can only thank them once again on behalf of the family.

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. I am sorry for your loss but am pleased that everyone you met on your visits was caring. Our staff on Mandarin Ward B work incredibly hard to ensure all our patients receive excellent care so they will appreciate your kind words. I am pleased that you are considering making a donation to the hospital, that is very kind of you. Yours sincerely Flo Panel-Coates Chief Nurse
